Welcome to Romsey Voices

Following the Government restrictions in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak Romsey Voices has suspended rehearsals.  This restriction is under constant review as the situation is changing daily.

In the meantime we are planning a range of alternative approaches including remote access video coaching either as sections or as whole choirs.

Our next performances are subject to review following the Government restrictions in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Would you like to sing in a choir? Often thought about it but never actually taken the plunge? Romsey is an incredible singing town so why not be a part of an one of Romsey’s newest adult choirs – ‘Romsey Voices’.

This choir for men and women was formed in 2015 and has around 80 members ranging in age from ~20 to ~80.

The music is varied, featuring songs from the shows – Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof etc as well as arrangements of popular songs and some more classical pieces. Who knows what we’ll end up doing along the line – it’s proving to be a fun musical journey.  We’ve performed two or three concerts per year raising funds for various charities and our first tour was to Verona, Italy in 2018.  This year we won both classes we entered in the Southampton Festival of Music and Drama.

We meet in the Romsey Abbey Primary School music room on Wednesdays during school term time from 7:45 pm for a warm up before moving into the school hall at 8pm and rehearse until ~ 9:30pm.

Our rehearsal evening takes the format of two singing sessions with a short break to socialise in the middle. There is a termly membership charge of £34 to cover costs.

Singing is great fun and makes you feel good, singing with other people is very uplifting and everyone will be made to feel very welcome.  We have several social activities each year  – most recently a great barn dance.

If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to contact us to find out more.

If you are interested in joining please contact me to see if there are spaces available in the choir

– I’d love to hear from you
